Hong Kong Revisited December 2013

Recently we went for a week holiday to Hong Kong. It was supposed to be a relax and free and easy kind of holiday trip but it was not the case. It was hectic when we got there, not so much of our doing things but more to what transpired when we were there. The city was crowded with people walking and shopping. In Hong Kong you need to keep on walking to be in alignment, once you slow down you will be a hassle for all pedestrians. The same thing with looking for a place to eat, everywhere you look, and you will see people queuing outside the tiny eateries and you will have to be fast with your orders. Having said that, I did enjoy my stay there because of some of the great shopping I have come across. Some cosmetic products were really a steal after the discount and I love the embroidery stuffs that I bought at the Stanley Market. Hong Kong is cheap when you know where to go and shop, otherwise you will end up paying more than you bargained for. We have been to Hong Kong so many times but this time around, I find Hong Kong more expensive in term of food and of course accommodation. Land is very scarce and expensive in Hong Kong, their properties cost millions of dollars. With all these experiences it does make you appreciative of what we have back home in our own country. Despite of all these, Hong Kong is still a nice place to go for a holiday, the night view from the harbour is majestic and magical with all the lights.
