Collections of Christmas Books

Recently I purchased a few books that I have wanted to buy and I am very satisfied with it. Although these books were not new titles but I find that it makes good references. I love to read about the Victorian era and when I found this book though it was not much to go on, I bought it anyway and the information I have gained from reading it was enormous. The other book was a St. Michael Baking book. Now this book teaches how to bake bread of all sorts and Scones and Cakes and oh, I could go on and on. I also bought two of Delia Smiths Cook Books and I just love her recipes. I remembered baking her beef pies and it was so delicious.

A Treasured Friendship

I have been late in updating my blog but then there are so many things to be done and every day is as if I am procrastinating, I keep on telling myself I will do these and these tomorrow and then it will never be done. Out of all these at least some surprises sprung up and one of those was that, after all these years I finally got to meet my good friend Karina and family from Sydney. Now this is what I anticipated was a good Christmas surprise. We were out of touch for I think seven years and then she called me and gosh was I stunned and felt very happy that there was still this connection of friendship, Thanks Karina and Michael and your three beautiful daughters. It has been good to see you all again after all these years. Karina also gives me these gifts from Sydney, Australia, a set of table placemats and Coasters. I really appreciate the thoughtful gifts. Karina and I used to phone each other every day to share stories. They have three teenagers, a pair of girl twins and a daughter, Chelsea, who was born in the same month as Jonathan in July 1996.

Christmas In Hong Kong 2013

Christmas in Hong Kong is a must if only to go and watch the extravagant Christmas decorations that adorned every corner of the city. It gets you in the mood for Christmas shopping and then makes one feels that the holiday seasons has started. The most lively and jolly place to be was at The Harbour City Shopping Mall Main Entrance where you can see some of your favourite Disney’s characters like snow white and Mickey mouse. The place is always full of tourists and people mingling around taking pictures and admiring the decorations. It has to be an experience you will remember for a long time to come.

Hong Kong Revisited December 2013

Recently we went for a week holiday to Hong Kong. It was supposed to be a relax and free and easy kind of holiday trip but it was not the case. It was hectic when we got there, not so much of our doing things but more to what transpired when we were there. The city was crowded with people walking and shopping. In Hong Kong you need to keep on walking to be in alignment, once you slow down you will be a hassle for all pedestrians. The same thing with looking for a place to eat, everywhere you look, and you will see people queuing outside the tiny eateries and you will have to be fast with your orders. Having said that, I did enjoy my stay there because of some of the great shopping I have come across. Some cosmetic products were really a steal after the discount and I love the embroidery stuffs that I bought at the Stanley Market. Hong Kong is cheap when you know where to go and shop, otherwise you will end up paying more than you bargained for. We have been to Hong Kong so many times but this time around, I find Hong Kong more expensive in term of food and of course accommodation. Land is very scarce and expensive in Hong Kong, their properties cost millions of dollars. With all these experiences it does make you appreciative of what we have back home in our own country. Despite of all these, Hong Kong is still a nice place to go for a holiday, the night view from the harbour is majestic and magical with all the lights.
