Moderation Is The Key To A Healthy Life..

Just recently I came across an article written by Jonathan for an English project and I asked him if I can use it on my blog. It is entitled "Moderation Is The Key To A Healthy Life" Do You Agree"? well, these were his opinion and I think it has been justly said, because some of the things in our life must be done moderately although we must all live life to its fullest !

Yes, I agree, moderation is indeed the key to a healthy lifestyle. Moderation is vital and important in our everyday life to ensure we do not overdo anything or make extreme decisions or choices that may trouble us or cause us to regret the path we choose to take in our life. Moderation can be practiced in many different aspects in our life; we need to make a habit of being moderate in anything we do in our life.
The best example of how moderation can be shown would be through making choices from anything small such as buying a pair of shoes into something big and life changing such as choosing a career in life. Many people live by the extreme saying “No pain, no gain”, which is not entirely wrong for certain tasks such as working out in the gym. It is not necessary to be extreme when making simple choices we are faced with every day. For instance, if one were to buy a car, it need not be a car that costs an arm and a leg, rather a car that can bring us wherever we want to go, as long as it does the job it does not matter how luxurious it may be or how big it may be, unless you have a big family that is.
Another good example would be when eating. Moderation can very much be shown through diet routines an individual chooses. When eating or enjoying a meal, it is important to eat moderately. This means not to eat too much like there is no tomorrow, but not to eat too little either. Eating can be very tempting to everyone and also very enjoyable but we must not forget to eat moderately. By eating moderately we can kill two birds with one stone, we can save money and also save ourselves from becoming too fat. Prevention is always better than cure, it is better to eat moderately than to spend countless hours in the gym trying to lose belly fat.
Furthermore, we should also practice moderation in our daily expenditure. We should all set limits to how much we can spend and according to our financial capabilities, before we end up with a credit card bill that is sky high. Similarly to eating, buying something new can be very exciting and satisfying. Nevertheless, we should always buy according to our needs and not what we think we need. For instance, when you see a new shirt that looks good and you tell yourself you have got to be the first one to have it. Ask yourself if it is really necessary or will you end up giving it away to charity after using it once or twice. This also ensures we do not go bankrupt and ending up auctioning our house away!
Another way we can practice moderation is in our hobbies or what we can do to past time at home, as these activities are very much related to our daily lifestyle. We should no doubt be active but again moderately to make sure not to overdo something’s. When playing a computer game or watching television, we should set time limits to how long we spent on computers or watching movies. Video games are fun but studies are much more important if we want to have a bright future and a career that can support our lifestyle. Choosing a career can be stressful, but if we choose a career that is favourable and not too hard for us we will gain long term success.
In conclusion, moderation is definitely the key to a healthy life. If everyone is able to realise how moderation plays a big role in our life and take that extra step to change, we can all enjoy the benefits of living moderately. So, the next time you feel like buying something expensive, ask yourself if you really need it or else saving your money would be equally good!
