Playful Monkeys in the City Centre

I live in Kuala Lumpur city centre and despite it being in the city, there are still a bit of a forest at the back of my Condo building. I like it for the mere fact that I can always look out through my windows and find trees and plant creepers all over that area. This little forest also is home to some grey haired, long tail monkeys.  They will hop along the top of the fencing surrounding the Condo building. They usually will come in group and you can see them in actions when that happens. They look cute, but maybe a little bit intimidating too.

How cool is that right in the City Centre

Decoupage, Tissue Box

One of my favourite pastimes is also doing decoupage, I did a plain tissue box bought from Art and Friends with tissue napkins, it turned out beautifully. I had a few tissue box holders or covers but this one is something that I like because of its sturdy material, all the one I have are mostly made with lace and delicate material.  Likewise, I primed the card box with white gesso and then used a thinned glue to brush over the tissue napkin softly and after it dried, I seal it with a Royal Coat of Decoupage Finish. It will dry to a clear, satin finish.

Ikea plastic stool, repainted

It’s been awhile since my last entry on this blog. Anyway, I have been doing things that I really enjoyed doing. A few days ago, instead of throwing out my old Ikea plastic stool, I decided to repaint it with my favourite colour, pink and teal. I primed it with white gesso and painted it with Martha Steward acrylic satin pink for multi surfaces, I then sprayed paint the legs with teal colour. Hmm... pink and teal does go together beautifully. The finished product …loved it to bits. Now it’s the stool to bring and use all over the unit.
