Laurance and Marilyn's Garden

How would I describe my brother’s house, he builds it like a Chalet style and it is all made of wood and all through the year fruit trees, flowers and greenery surrounded his house. His wife, my sister in law, Marilyn, also like to do gardening despite her heavy work schedules in one of the Government department offices. I love the orchid plant that she hangs over her balcony. All in all it is like a fairy tales house as everywhere you turn , you will see trees, plants and flowers. It is a cozy enclave for the family.

It’s that time of the year again when we visited my mom’s place where the family gathered for the Holiday celebration. It has been almost a year I have not been back to the family house, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the garden doing quite well despite of the scorching hot weather. The whole place was filled with greenery, the trees were full of leaves and all the hardy plants were blooming with colours. As usual I spent my time walking all around the garden taking pictures after pictures.

Christmas Cookies December 2015 and into the New Year 2016

Its Happy New Year 2016 to everybody, I was quite occupied with family affairs and travelling that I found it difficult to update my blog, well, 2015 has left us and we are now into a fresh new year, I would like to let you all have a glimpse of what I have done last year December 2015, as usual, I was busy baking my Christmas cookies and cakes, I cut down on my baking that year because I had intended to travel to my mom’s place. Here are two pictures I wanted to share, I had always enjoyed baking for this special season.

Josie's Roses Garden 2

My sister Josie send me some new pictures of her garden, which is doing quite well, she told me that this time her rage is planting orchid and I totally like the idea of it. There are so many varieties and beautiful orchid plant to choose from and I am sure her garden is going to be splendid and blooming with colours in no time. Her roses plant are doing quite well too, here are some pictures of it;

Chocolate Chips Cookies

I love chunky nutty chocolate chip cookies, I also like to shape it big when I bake it, and thus my favourite recipe to use is from my old recipe book by Betty Crocker. The chocolate cookies never failed to impress and it tasted fantastic. I also like to add in some rolled oats. The baking time will depend on the texture of the cookie you want, usually I like mine a bit crispy and chewy at the same time.
