Philippines Basket

This was my family favourite basket. It has been in the house for as long as I can remember. My mum bought it from a Filipino handicraft stall, about twenty years ago and it has been used for wedding,Christmas and whenever there is a need to contain something with. It is kind of special because of its intricate design, I think nowadays it will be expensive to buy something with that design. This basket is enduring too, even the colour doesn't really fade. I think it is a good buy and a definite keeper.

Gladiola And Orchid

I can vividly remember when mum use to tend the garden and as I look through my old photographs I came across all these beautiful pictures of gladiola and orchid blooming with perfect colours. She adores all her plants and never grew tired of it. These remind me of her.

High Mountain Range

These beautiful trees and scenery were taken on the way back to my family home. It is always refreshing to see the mountains covered with thick mist and to be able to breathe the cool mountain air. I missed all of that in the city . The culminating point each time is when we stop at one of the eateries up in the mountain some 6000feet above sea level. I like the fried mee and I will always have it if I do go back.

Jit's Sea Shell

Last Christmas I and my family had a really good and enjoyable time visiting old friends. We visited Jit and hubby and I really like the way she does her crafts using sea shells. There is a theme to her seashell crafts which she cleverly arranged onto a big picture frame. I like it because at one glance you can tell the pictures is about the seabed and the seashells look so amazingly beautiful.

Nostalgic Advertisment

While looking through an old book I came across these advertisements on the back pages. I was excited to be able to see how simple it was back then all in black and white. It was from a copy of Country Life, Picture Book of Scotland, first published in 1952. These pictures are nostalgic and I have been to Edinburgh and visited Jenners too it is still the same building.

2012 Christmas Spreads

Christmas time has been so busy with all the hustles and bustles of shopping, gifts wrapping and eating non stop. Finally it’s over and these are the pictures that Jonathan took for me. I have enjoyed every bit of my holidays and now looking forward for the next holiday again. I was back with my family for Christmas and we had an amazing time taking part in the lucky dips and potlucks which I organized. Everyone has had so much fun and nice gifts, my mum even though not so well with her leg managed to cook up my favourite dishes. She was determined to cook and I really appreciate that. We had the Carollers over and they sang all my favourite carols.
